Mathoura Highlands was established in 1996 in Kilmore Victoria by John Martin, Mathoura started with just two highland heifers to test the waters and over time the fold numbers have continued to grow, along with the knowledge of all things highland, Mathoura relocated to Victoria's picturesque East Gippsland area in mid 2007 in order to continue to expand. Unfortunately John lost his three year battle with cancer in April this year, but only after having implemented tremendous changes to the new property as well as the partial realization of his dream of the expanding of the business in his retirement.

The tradition and values of Mathoura Highlands will continue along the same lines and direction established under the auspices of a family member.

Mathoura Highlands are not only breeders of Stud Animals for Australian market we also have exported live animals to New Zealand, we have  achieved great success in the show ring locally as well on the international stage in New Zealand, Germany and Wales.
